Dime Dilemma wood Puzzle

Can you insert the dime into the large circular area? The 10 cent challenge is whether you can do it in 5 minutes. Very few people will accomplish this! Its alot harder than it may look...... This puzzle is related to our very popular 10 Penny puzzle, but it is more difficult. Based on circle packing mathematics where the area of each piece increases by an area equal to the #1 circle. Although we did slightly modify the #1,4, and 10 pieces to take up any rattle room. We believe there is only one solution which is provided with the puzzle. Size of puzzle is 4 x 4.4 x .5" Pieces are laser cut and etched for accuracy. Base is floorboard for stability and scratch resistance. Pieces are alder and maple, though these woods may vary. Martin's Menace Puzzle

Item Description

How can a 4 piece puzzle be so difficult??. All you have to do is insert them into the frame… It is a Stewart Coffin design (#217) originally called “Four Fit” but renamed by Stewart after Martin Gardner’s week long efforts to solve it were in vain. Martin Gardner (1914-2010) is considered the Father of Recreational Math with perhaps the greatest puzzle mind of the 20th century. Martin called it “The finest dissection puzzle of all time”. The ¼” thick pieces are precision laser cut from 4 different hardwoods. The base and cover measure about 6” square. The Swarthmore College logo is laser engraved on the puzzle.
